As the season of college applications approaches, students become more and more interested in minute details about application materials https://mrtestprep.com/sat-tutoring-palo-alto-ca/. Of all the different questions students ask, one constantly comes to the fore: “Can you super score digital and paper SAT?”. As a sat-tutor-santa-clara-ca, we will share everything about this thing with you.
First, let’s understand what is meant by SAT superscoring. According to the policy, states the College Board blog, this means using your best section-level scores, even if from different tests. Put in another way, the colleges take the highest section scores across multiple testing dates and combine them to create a new, higher composite score. For example, a student who scored 700 points for Reading & Writing and 750 points for Math in the December 2023 test takes the same test in March 2024 and scores the reverse, 750 points for Reading & Writing and 700 points for Math.
The student will submit the scores from both test dates, and the college will take the student’s total score as 1500, putting together the higher scores in each section: 750 on Reading & Writing, 750 on Math. It will help students get back some points they feel have underperformed in some section and give them every available opportunity to make the best performance in their college applications.
What could influence this tradition? As explained, beginning in 2023, the College Board began to switch the SAT into the digital administration method. The test went fully digital internationally beginning in March 2024. Its purpose is to give students more flexibility and accessibility to take the test by computer. Accompanying this shift were shorter testing times and more accessible question types in a bid to lighten the load of test-taking for so many students. Given that change in format, there’s the inevitable question about whether superscoring between the two versions of the test will be allowed.
